Statement of the Problem:

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History is conducting an archaeology field school here during the summer of 1997 (see http://www.cmnh.org/research/archaeo/field-school-97.html for further details on the field school and the archaeological and paleontological setting). Although sinkholes and caves are common on this limestone ridge, no one knows precisely where to begin a new excavation. We hope that geophysical techniques can provide archaeologists with appropriate targets - large sediment-filled sinkholes.
