Sokkia Set3BII electronic total station uses laser distance meter and precision electronics to measure distance, azimuth and elevation distance to a special target up to 3 km away. Here, the Set3BII is set up to support a microgravity survey, where elevations must be determined to an accuracy of less than a foot. We thank the National Science Foundation for providing us with this new instrument, which will be used in our new Environmental Geology Laboratory course.
