Short Essays

Please write your short essay in your favorite word processor with functioning spelling check, then copy and paste the essay into the message box of WebCT email, and send it to me or to the T.A., following instructions posted on the slide.

It takes me 5 or 6 clicks to open and read an attachment, but only one to open and read a message.  Sometimes I cannot open attached files - when this happens, the student must resubmit the assignment in a format I can open.   I am using Microsoft Office 2003 and often cannot open documents in an Office 2007 (or later) edition (when we are provided with funds for updating our hardware & software we faculty will be able to do so, but many faculty are stuck with computers and software more than 10 years old with no funds to purchase updates.)  Microsoft has provided fixes intended to render Office 2007 documents readable by Office 2003 applications, but these do not always work as intended.

In the Subject line, type SE Chapter X (where X is the chapter) or SE YYYY (where YYYY is the topic: earthquakes, volcanoes, whatever).

Please do NOT post short essays to Bulletin Board or to my  utnet address.  I have no way of moving messages sent to the wrong location and your essay might get lost when I set aside time for grading.
