DAY #1 at the University of Toledo's R.A. Stranahan Arboretum

Group Z collecting a soil sample from the auger
Group Y preparing to drill a monitoring well the easy way--letting Department of Geology staff drill it with a gasoline-powered drill rig.
And away we go...
Group W watches as their monitoring well is being drilled
Group Y analyzing soil for moisture content, iron content and grain size.
Group Y still analyzing the well cuttings.
Group X seeking information and counsel
Group Y taking note of a storm sewer drain during site assessment
Group W performing a site assessment. Hmmm, could that suspicious looking barrel be a potential source of pollution?
Group X investigating the wetlands
Group Y consulting the course manual to see what is next--or could it be just taking a break?
Setting up the transit to map the location of the monitoring wells.
