Background: NASA artist captures an asteroid at the moment of impact.  The front is beginning to vaporize while the top does not yet feel the impact.  Traveling at 25 km/second, this asteroid is moving too fast to capture with a camera.  A distant viewer would see only a flash of painfully bright light.
