wAttendance will not be monitored.  However, missed work and instructions are YOUR responsibility.

 

wIW policy: I do not automatically drop students from my class for nonattendance.  You must inform me if you want an IW.

 

w  Exams may cover material assigned the readings that is not specifically discussed in class and material covered in lecture that is not presented in the text. 

 

w  Do the assigned reading BEFORE coming to lecture.

 

w  Be prepared to participate every class; period there will breaks in lecture where students will answer questions or work in small groups. 

 

w  Ask questions in lecture!  It will help other students to hear your question and the answer. 

 

w  Dates and reading assignments listed on the schedule are tentative.  These will be updated as the semester progresses.

wStudents are expected to adhere to principles of academic honesty in all aspects of this course. Infractions result, without exception, in a failing grade for the course.

II. GRADING

wFour Exams: @ 25% apiece (three midterms and a final)

wFormat: Objective type, i.e., T or F, multiple choice, matching —computer graded; bring a soft lead pencil to every exam

 

wPop Quizzes (additional points) Will be randomly dispersed through out the semester and will not be announced ahead of time.  Bring a soft lead pencil to class EVERY DAY; no makeup quizzes.

              

wMakeup exams are only given to individuals whose absences meet university guidelines for excused absences (check your handbook very carefully!).  If you miss an exam, it MUST be taken during the class period within one week after original test date.  Also, you must contact me as soon as possible to make arrangements.

 

wThere are no extra credit assignments.
