Physical Track

With the University of Toledo situated on a glacial lake plain, considerable emphasis is placed upon understanding glacial, Quaternary and marine geology.  An understanding of glacial-environment processes, sediments, stratigraphy and landforms, is requisite for studying the nature and behavior of groundwater, and concomitant geochemical issues.

Environmental Track

Our environment is created and controlled by geological processes and, as the global population grows exponentially, we increasingly impact our environment and vital geological processes.  These impacts occur largely by modification, overuse and contamination of soil, surface water and groundwater, three crucial geologic resources.  A solid comprehension of the processes that form and modify our environment is crucial in all fields dealing with environmental issues
